The Plasma Turret is the most powerful defence structure per unit. With 3,000 base attack, it devastates any ship class. Multiple Plasma Turrets make a planet extremely costly to attack and are the cornerstone of any serious defensive setup.

Tips
Plasma Turrets are the best defence per resource slot. 50–100 Plasma Turrets plus Shield Domes makes your planet nearly impractical to attack.
This is a substantial research investment. Plan your research path so you can start building Plasma Turrets before you need them.
Shield Domes protect weaker defence units. Plasma Turrets in combination with 500–1,000 Rocket Launchers (as cannon fodder) create a layered defence.
At 30,000 deuterium per turret, mass-building Plasma Turrets requires a strong Deuterium Synthesizer income. Time your builds with your deut stockpile.
