Deuterium Synthesizer

The Deuterium Synthesizer extracts and purifies deuterium from the planet's water. Deuterium fuels the Fusion Reactor, powers Hyperspace Drives, and is consumed by almost all fleet movements.

Production Formula
where is the maximum daily temperature of the planet in °C.
Deuterium production is higher on colder planets (outer slots). A planet at −60°C produces roughly twice as much as one at +120°C.

| Level | Deuterium/h |
|---|---|
| 1 | 14 |
| 5 | 104 |

Energy Consumption
The Deuterium Synthesizer consumes twice as much energy per level as the Metal Mine or Crystal Mine.
Tips
Place your Deuterium Synthesizer planet in the outer solar system (slots 13–15). Even a few degrees colder meaningfully increases output over months of play.
Plasma Technology boosts Deuterium output by 0.33% per level.
Keep an eye on your deuterium balance when running expeditions or large fleets — deuterium is the only resource that cannot be traded trivially because everyone produces it slowly.
