Metal Mine

The Metal Mine extracts metal from the planet's crust. Metal is the most abundant resource and the primary building material for almost everything in OGame. Every planet starts with a level 1 Metal Mine.

Energy Consumption
Each level requires more energy. Cover the deficit with a Solar Plant, Fusion Reactor, or Solar Satellites.
If total energy production falls below total consumption, all mines run at reduced efficiency proportional to the energy deficit. Always maintain a small energy surplus.
Tips
Max out your Metal Mine first — metal is required in the greatest quantities for almost every construction and ship. Aim for level 20+ before focusing elsewhere.
After every few mine levels, build 1–2 Solar Plant levels to restore your energy surplus. A dead mine produces nothing.
Each level of Plasma Technology increases Metal Mine output by 1% additively.
