Interplanetary Missile
The Interplanetary Missile (IPM) is a long-range weapon that destroys defence structures on target planets in the same galaxy (limited by Impulse Drive range). IPMs bypass Shield Domes and directly damage defence. They can be intercepted by Anti-Ballistic Missiles.

| Impulse Level | Range |
|---|---|
| 1 | 5 systems |
| 2 | 10 systems |
| 5 | 25 systems |
| 10 | 50 systems |
IPMs cannot cross galaxies — only planets within the same galaxy are targetable.
Damage
Each IPM deals damage to one randomly selected defence structure. It ignores shields completely and rolls against hull directly.
Shield Domes do not protect against IPMs. ABMs are the only counter.
Tips
Fire IPMs to destroy the highest-value defences (Plasma Turrets, Gauss Cannons) before sending your fleet. This reduces fleet losses significantly.
Probe the target for their ABM count. Send IPMs equal to ABMs + number you need to destroy the target defences.
Even without a follow-up attack, IPMs destroy expensive defences. Repeated IPM harassment costs the defender far more than it costs you.
12,500M / 2,500C / 10,000D per IPM. The defender's Plasma Turret costs 50k/50k/30k. Destroying a turret with 1 IPM is a net resource gain for the attacker.
