Sensor Phalanx

Sensor Phalanx

Moon Only

The Sensor Phalanx is a long-range sensor array built on a moon. It can spy on fleet movements around planets in neighbouring systems — without sending Espionage Probes.

Deuterium Cost Per Scan

Each phalanx scan consumes deuterium. The cost depends on the distance to the scanned planet.

Capabilities

  • Reveals all incoming and outgoing fleet movements around the target planet
  • Shows fleet composition, cargo, speed, arrival time, and mission type
  • Cannot be blocked by the target player
  • Works through Shield Domes
Anti-Phalanx Awareness

Experienced players assume they are being phalanxed when flying slow fleets. They either:

  • Fly at 100% speed to minimise the window
  • Use the Jump Gate to teleport fleets between moons
  • Vary fleet-save timings

Tips

Level 3–5 Sweet Spot

A level 3 Phalanx covers 8 systems on each side — enough to monitor most nearby activity. Level 5 (24 systems) covers most practical raiding ranges.

Counter-Intelligence

Use your own phalanx to check if an attacker is incoming before your fleet lands. Knowing their timing lets you recall or adjust.

Pair with Jump Gate

Place a Phalanx and a Jump Gate on the same moon. Spot a target, jump your fleet to the closest moon, launch immediately.
